It will be at least one more game on the shelf for Bruins center David Krejci, who has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Ducks, according to Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Out of action since he suffered an upper-body injury in the second period of an Oct. 19 demolition of the Canucks, this 'setback' comes a day after Krejci was a somewhat full participant in Tuesday’s practice, and ditched the non-contact jersey he’s sported since his meaningful return to the ice.

At the same time, this absence was probably to be expected given the fact that Krejci did not take any real rushes with would-be linemates Frank Vatrano and Danton Heinen in that practice, according to the Boston Herald’s Steve Conroy.

This means that the underdog Jordan Szwarz, who has been a pleasant surprise considering the role he's been asked to handle, will be your second line center for at least one more night. The journeyman AHLer has tallied three assists and 13 shots on goal while averaging 12:14 of time on ice in six games for the Big B’s this season.

The good news is that Cassidy tabbed Krejci as ‘probable’ for Thursday against the Kings, which cannot be said for Anders Bjork and Brad Marchand.

The Bruins have posted a 3-3-4 record and converted on just five of their 32 power-play opportunities (a 15.6 power-play percentage) in Krejci’s absence.
