Ondrej Pavelec Collapses During Game

Update 2: Numerous outlets, including TSN are now reporting that Pavelec regained consciousness a short time after collapsing - always a great sign.

Update: Release given by the Atlanta Thrashers after the first period:



Pavelec lost consciousness and was transported to hospital for evaluation. No further comment at this time.


Ondrej Pavelec has just collapsed in the first period against the Washington Capitals. No word on his current health status, but as per the Washington Capitals broadcasting team, CPR was not administered.

At the very least, quite a scary moment here. Check video below:



He's been transported to a nearby hospital for more evaluation, and I'll have updates as soon as I get them. His fall to the ice came just minutes into the game - Pavelec did not record a save, and was replaced by Chris Mason.
