The 19-year-old is coming off a terrific debut season with Harvard University. He tallied seven goals and 20 points in 33 games while finishing 5th on the team in scoring.
The three forwards to record more points were 21 or older while the only defender, Adam Fox, is a 20-year-old chosen by Calgary in the 3rd round of the 2016 draft.
Suffice to say, it was a good year for Walsh and it's nice to see he's being recognized accordingly.
USA's World Junior roster won't be finalized for a long time but it's probably safe to assume Walsh will be on it – and playing a leading role.
By all accounts Walsh seems to be coming along quite nicely, which is good news for a Devils team without many quality defenders in the system.
