With the 41st overall pick in the draft the New Jersey Devils selected one of Michael McLeod's linemates in Nathan Bastian.
Bastian is a big (6'4'), smart, defensively responsible player that can also chip in offensively. He does have some finishing ability around the net but he's not a big goal scorer. Bastian is a good passer, is effective in the cycle game and is a strong forechecker.
Bastian had 19 goals and 59 points in 64 regular season games.
I don't think he possesses a ton of offensive upside and there were higher rated players on my board.
