With the 12th overall pick in the draft the New Jersey Devils added some much needed speed in Micheal McLeod.

McLeod is a quick accelerator and possesses elite speed. He is among the very best in the draft in that regard. McLeod has a non-stop motor and back checks as hard as he skates up ice with the puck.

McLeod has good playmaking skills and an underrated shot. I don't know that he'll be a prolific offensive player at the next level but he should be a good contributor at both ends of the ice and there is no questioning his speed or drive.

I view him as a future No. 2 center.
