The Devils have signed Kyle Quincey to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million. I'll probably have more on this tomorrow but I have no problem with the signing. His best days are behind him but he's still a serviceable depth option, which is what the Devils are paying him to be.

The New Jersey Devils are back in action tonight looking to move to 3-0-0 on the preseason. Standing in the way will be the Philadelphia Flyers, who the Devils downed 2-0 in a split squad game a couple nights ago.

Tonight's game gets underway at 7 eastern and can be seen on MSG+; although they'll be carrying Philadelphia's broadcast feed.

Here is tonight's lineup:

John Quenneville - Joseph Blandisi - Nathan Bastian
Jacob Josefson - Carter Camper - Miles Wood
Blake Speers - Brandon Gignac - Ryan Kujawinski
Ben Thomson - Kevin Rooney - Brandon Baddock

Jon Merrill - Seth Helgeson
Colby Sissions - Damon Severson
Colton White - Josh Jacobs

Keith Kinkaid
Anders Lindback

A few notes:

1) The Devils have quite a few junior players in the lineup tonight with Bastian, Speers, Gignac, Sissions and co. all scheduled to play. This could very well be the last taste of action they get before the Devils trim down their roster and really start to work the guys who will be sticking around.

2) This is a big game for Sissions in particular. He went undrafted this past June but the Devils obviously liked him enough to give him a look. He's playing for a contract and a strong showing could be enough to get him one; whether it be in New Jersey or elsewhere. Either way plenty of eyes will be on him tonight.

3) Jacob Josefson playing the wing is interesting. If Pavel Zacha makes the team, and the Devils want to use him at center, they would have five centers (Adam Henrique, Travis Zajac, Vern Fiddler, Josefson and Zacha) in their every day lineup. Josefson has struggled in the faceoff circle throughout his career so I wouldn't be surprised if he is who they decide to move to the wing. This could just be a test run.

4) Keith Kinkaid did his job last time out (he stopped six of six in half of a game) but Scott Wedgewood's performance in Montreal (he stopped 26-27) was certainly more impressive for obvious reasons. With Cory Schneider set to steal some action away in the coming games it makes each appearance that much more important. Kinkaid will have to impress if he wants to stick around.
