Why Blow It Up?

If anyone doubts that Peter Laviolette wasn't upset with his team after Thursday's 5-2 loss that was put to rest on Friday at Skate Zone.

Lavy is bag skating them. Suicide drills.

Worse, he's ripped up all four lines.

I thought it was a mistake to change 3 of 4 lines for the Caps game. How much of that had to do with Washington's personnel vs. fitting Brayden Schenn into the mix, is up for debate.

Lavy has always said that "it's about us and not them" and he seldom changes lines just to match up against an opponent.

If the Flyers were in a tailspin, I could see doing this. But they had not lost a game in regulation and chemistry is such a fragile thing when a club is winning. Now, with all the lein changes after one loss, you wonder what happens to that chemistry.

Again, it's not to say every line had it, but the Flyers were winning and it was working.

Today's lines: Hartnell-Briere-Voracek; Schenn-Giroux-Jagr; JVR-Read-Simmonds;
Shelley/Nodl-Couturier-Talbot
