Look for Grossmann Next Week

If I were a betting man on FLyer injuries right now, I would put $$$ on Nicklas Grossmann showing up for Game 1 of the playoffs next week.

He is out right now with a sprained right knee, the result of a knee-on-knee hit from PGH's Joe Vitale last Sunday.

Grossmann was walking around the club's training facility this morning with no apparent limp. Put it this way: Ilya Bryzgalov had a very pronounced limp and he is playing tonight against the Sabres.

What says he is playing to me is that Grossmann hung up a brand new knee brace at his locker - for the right knee.

He seemed optimistic of playing when I spoke to. And when quizzed by Lisa Hillary about playing in the season finale at Pittsburgh, Grossmann flat out said the most important thing to him wasn't getting a game in but to assure he's ready for the playoffs.

One more thing. What are the odds Zac Rinaldo overtakes CBJ's Derek Dorsett and becomes the most penalized player in the NHL?

Rinaldo told me he is not going to do anything stupid just to draw a call. He has 217 PIM - one less than Dorsett.

He also says it doesn't matter if he get the distinction of being the most penalized player in the league.
