Is Bryzgalov the Answer?

No one knows how the Flyers are going to go out and get themselves another goalie this summer.

Will it be through free agency or a trade?

Would it be better to trade for a goalie and lose salary? Or trade salary for picks, given their salary cap situation?

So many questions and not a lot of answers.

I bumped into a pretty good NHL source out here in Vancouver at the Western Conference finals who is close to Ilya Bryzgalov and the situation in Phoenix.

This person believes that is the Flyers best option and says that the Coyotes have already talked to the Flyers inquiring about Jeff Carter to help them in the situation at center.

There's names out there and guys who can be had via the trade route, as well. What the Flyers need is someone who will backstop them on a consistent basis without question as to whether they need to be pulled and buy some time for the organization's young goalies to mature.

I'm not sure Bryzgalov is the answer but he would be an upgrade over what the flyers have right now. But you could say that about a number of other goalies, too - Evgeni Nabokov, Nik Backstrom, Miikka Kiprusoff, etc.
