What now?

Nylander's conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins has officially come to an end and he has been recalled by the Capitals(formality).

The question now is, what next?

Was the 4 game showcase with the Griffins enough to entice an NHL team?

With 1 goal and 5 assists and +3 while helping GR to 4 straight wins, it seems like Nyls' game is coming around.

Who knows!?

I will be back with more info as I get it...

- As reported by Spector, the Capitals, as well as the Canadiens and Avalanche are among the teams being "speculated" to have interest in Forsberg.

Sather and the Rangers have admitted interest, but the Rags have cap implications that may keep them from making a competitive offer.

In my opinion, Forsberg would be a great addition if healthy enough to play at least the majority of the games through the 2nd half and the playoffs. Considering what he has been through, if he were to come over now and manage to play in 40-45 games from now until the end of the season, there is no doubt in my mind that Forsberg can put a team over the edge, from pretender to contender. But, there are big ifs around his health, primarily the strength of his feet.

As of now, I have had no confirmation nor could I get any hints as to whether the Capitals are indeed scouting Forsberg. What I do know is that Forsberg has expressed interest in the Caps and that Washington would be foolish not to reciprocate. If he is willing to work something out given the cap constraints that Washington is facing, welcome aboard! The reality of a possible Forsberg signing in Washington though, is rather slim, unless McPhee can manage to find a way to move Michael Nylander. A swede for a swede, what could these Caps be getting themselves into?

Hearsay for now, but logic dictates that the Caps would be fools not to keep a close eye on Forsberg. The odds are most certainly stacked against both parties at the moment(health of Foppa vs Caps ability to clear cap space) so don't count on it happening, just know that it makes sense for Washington to be scouting him.

In case you missed it, here are the highlights from last night's loss to the Devils...
