The San Jose Sharks are going to be well represented when the NHL invades Los Angeles for its version of the mid-season classic.
The NHL announced the All Star game rosters on Tuesday and among them were a trifecta of Sharks and even the coach is getting in on the action.
Joe Pavelski, Brent Burns and Martin Jones will all take part in the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Games, held in Los Angeles at the end of this month.
Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer will coach the Pacific Division All-Star team. Besides his own players Deboer will have plenty of talent to work with. Take a look at the complete roster for yourself...
Forwards -
Connor McDavid, Oilers
Jeff Carter, Kings
Ryan Kesler, Ducks
Johnny Gaudreau, Flames
Bo Horvat, Canucks
Joe Pavelski, Sharks
Defensemen Goalies
Brent Burns, Sharks
Drew Doughty, Kings
Cam Fowler, Ducks
Goalies -
Martin Jones, Sharks
Mike Smith, Coyotes
The format is the same as last year, with players broken into four teams representing each division in a 3-on-3 tournament. The out-of-the-box change made for some very entertaining hockey and shouldn't disappoint this time around either.
Having more Sharks than Kings or Ducks at the game is a bit like pouring salt in an open festering wound, but it works for San Jose fans. It was punctuated by some clever trolling on the part of the Sharks official twitter account.
Priceless...
