We are smack dab in the middle of the dog-days of summer, which means hockey news is few and far between.

However the San Jose Sharks did manage to lock up one more piece of their black and teal puzzle when they inked restricted free-agent Matt Nieto to a 1-year deal.

The 23-year-old California native, had eight goals and nine assists in 67 games and made a name for himself on the Sharks PK.

The former second round pick in 2011 has 28 goals and 40 assists in 205 NHL career games and will wear a Sharks sweater for at least one more year.

Nieto is a speedster and played a significant role in the teams overall success this past season and with the added attention on team speed, (see Pens winning Cup), his role with the Sharks has never been more clearly defined.

We have just over 85 days to kill until the puck drops on the 2016-17 Sharks season and I wanted to do my part to take a look back on a very memorable 25th season for the San Jose franchise.

I've put together a list of the 25 most Sharktastic moments of the 2015-16 season. From the quick start, to a December to forget, to a season saving run and even a lucky black cat...I will look back on what was an incredible season of hockey for the team in teal.

Stay tuned for #25 tomorrow....here's a hint...
