Happy Deadline Day! We can't predict how active the San Jose Sharks will be leading up to the 3 p.m. trade deadline. They are riding back-to-back wins coming out of the bye and they appear to be growing in confidence with each win. Why mess with a good thing? Why mess with it?

We do know that at least one new player will have a shiny new jersey come Thursday.

I wasn't expecting much but with all the Ryan Miller talk and then the late night addition of Jannik Hansen this could turn out to be a very busy day.

I will update this blog throughout the day with any and all deals the Sharks make or don't make.

On the Hansen acquisition....

Is this really a deal Wilson had to make? The Sharks send Nokolay Goldobin and a pick to Vancouver for Hansen. Doesn't that seem like a bit of an over payment for a guy that has 13 points this season? Hansen is an excellent possession player and we know he has 20-goal potential, but I really liked what I saw from Goldobin. The Sharks never gave him a long enough look for him to have a fair shot.

This seems like a knee-jerk reaction to other moves around the league. Like I said, should be a fun day.

Latest on Miller....

The Sharks want a back-up and Ryan Miller is on their radar and conversely, the Sharks are on Miller's.

Interesting twist...

Was the Hansen deal a product of Miller trade talk? Interesting....

I will update this blog as news breaks....

More to come,
Steve
