As others bulk up, are the Sharks content with team as is?

Fresh off a convincing 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, the refreshed and refined San Jose Sharks are in a good place - a real good place. The Pacific leading Sharks are relatively healthy, have a very good battery between the pipes and are finally getting balanced scoring from its four lines.

Devoid of any real weaknesses, what should the Sharks do at the deadline? I personally would be fine if they did nothing. But, the trade deadline looms large and the contenders are already loading up.

Other teams in the Western Conference have added players in recent days, bulking up for the final stretch and into the playoffs. The Anaheim Ducks added more depth with the acquisition of Patrick Eaves. The Minnesota Wild bolster one of the beefiest groups of centers in the league following a trade with Arizona for Martin Hanzal. The beast of the East, the Washington Capitals, just bagged the defenseman they covet in Kevin Shattenkirk.

Even the currently out of a playoff spot Los Angeles Kings made some noise by adding goalie Ben Bishop from Tampa.

How will the Sharks react? How should they react? As more teams make moves its going to be harder and harder to stay quiet.

The franchise has already showcased its depth this season by seamlessly weaving players from the AHL in and out of the lineup without missing a beat. The Barracuda are so deep and so much better than any of their competition that they seriously may never lose again.

Let's not forget defenseman Dylan DeMelo and forward Joonas Donskoi should be returning from injury soon and Mikkel Boedker appears to have found his noise for the net again. All the more reason to keep things as they are.

But, if GM Doug Wilson does pull the trigger it won't take long for the newest Shark to assimilate himself into the teal and black culture. Give credit to a solid group of veterans for that one. It seems like the egos are left outside the arena and once inside its all about the name of the front and not the name on the back.

That said, my gut says the Sharks roster we see today will be the same Sharks roster we see Thursday morning. There have been better regular season teams in an Jose but this group is a proven playoff winner and this season they are more confident than last season. Remember, The group has a plethora of playoff experience, with 15 of the 23 players on the current roster having played significant roles in last spring's run.

What say you? Are you content with the team right now or do you really want a shiny new present under the trade deadline tree?
