Not As Quiet As Expected

Who will coach? Will brother Brent be behind the bench or will GM Sutter cop double duty once again?

Is there actually a chance that Jay Bouwmeester will end up in Calgary? Is there any truth to the rumor that Dion might not? Is Dany Heatly looking at a homecoming to kick off the 09-10 season? Is Harvey the hound related to Burt the dog?

These and many other questions will of course be answered before training camp kicks off in September, but the question should be: Are any of these actually a possibility?

The simple answer is yes. Make no mistake. Darry Sutter is ALWAYS looking to improve his team and will take all steps that he deems necessary to accomplish the organization's goal of winning the Stanley cup. Remember that this is a GM who when up against the cap last trade deadline made a deal that he felt would give his team a chance to compete for the ultimate prize when it was on the table. This of course being after he had told the fans and media that he would be quiet at the deadline. Now, regardless of how you felt about the trade, or the implications of the deal overall one thing was very clear. Sutter is proactive in his desire to get to the top.

That's why although some rumors may seem a little strange, outrageous or even impossible we need to understand that nothing is out of the realm of possibility. If the right deal is there that Sutter feels will push the team closer to their goal, Sutter will take a hrad look at it and make the moves that he feels are in the best interests of the team and that's something that you can guarantee.

What do you think of all the buzz about the Flames so far this summer?

Have a great day!
