The Penguins have a few days without games and some of the players who have missed time to injury are starting to heal up. The biggest name of the bunch is Matt Murray who was back at practice taking shots
It hasn't been a great year for Murray so far. He's had to deal with some injury issues and his play has taken a dive from the standard he set in the prior two years. Concussions are an unfortunate thing and hopefully he can move past this rough patch and find his groove again.
Zach Aston-Reese was also back skating again. He is probably one of the Penguins 12 best forwards at this point and getting him back healthy will be nice for the forward depth. I also have a hunch that Aston-Reese's return to the lineup will be a kick in the butt to Conor Sheary. With Aston-Reese available it isn't out of the question that Mike Sullivan would float him on the Crosby line and have Sheary watch from the stands.
Carter Rowney wasn't as lucky with his injury status. Mike Sullivan mentioned that they believe his injury to be longer term.
In non-player news the Carolina Hurricanes showed some interest in having another ex-Penguin as a general manager
Is the timing not right because he has the inside track on the Penguins job?
