Mikhail Grigorenko, we hardly knew ya.

BSNDenver.com reported that the Avalanche did not tender Grigorenko, who was a restricted free agent, a qualifying offer by Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent.

By issuing offers, NHL teams are given the right of first refusal or draft choice compensation should the player sign an offer sheet with another team.

The deadline for players to accept qualifying offers is July 15. Should an agreement not be met by that deadline, salary arbitration would take place from July 20-Aug. 4.

The Avalanche did tender qualifying offers to Sven Andrighetto, Gabriel Bourque, Felix Girard, Rocco Grimaldi, Matt Nieto, Duncan Siemens and Nikita Zadorov.

Siemens, 23, who was the second of the Avalanche's first-round picks in 2011, hasn't gotten much of an opportunity with the team. He played in three NHL games at the end of last season and one game in the 2014-15 season finale.

The enigmatic Grigorenko, also 23, was acquired two years ago from Buffalo in the Ryan O'Reilly trade. He was a first-round pick of the Sabres (No. 12) in 2012 and has never developed as hoped. He did score a career-high 10 goals last season.

The Avalanche didn't protect him in last week's expansion draft to stock the Vegas Golden Knights.

Twenty-two players, including 2017 first-round pick Cale Makar and 2016 first-round pick Tyson Jost, will attend development camp at the Family Sports Center in suburban Centennial, CO.

The camp will include off-ice physical training, learning sessions, and on-ice workouts. Medical and physical testing took place Monday before the Avalanche introduced five of their seven 2017 draft picks.

I wrote a Makar story for NHL.com that wasn't yet on site when I posted this.

Sessions are scheduled for 8 a.m. - 12:45 p.m., and 3 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sessions on Thursday will be 8 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

All times are Mountain Time. Sessions are free and open to the public.

The roster:

Goalies: Petr Kvaca, Ryan Larkin, Francis Leclerc, Adam Werner

Centers: J.C. Beaudin, Tyson Jost, Hugo Roy

Left wings: Travis Barron, Ty Lewis, Cam Morrison, Brady Shaw, Denis Smirnov

Right wings: Nick Henry, Sami Moilanen
