The St. Louis Blues are set to host the Nashville Predators tonight at 7:00, at the Scottrade Center. The Blues are looking to rebound after last night's loss over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Brian Elliott is back between the pipes tonight against the Predators. It's uncertain which Preds goalie will start tonight. Carter Hutton played well last night in an overtime win over New Jersey so we could be seeing Devan Dubnyk playing today.

Alex Steen and David Backes are the hottest Blues coming into tonight's tilt. Steen has seven points in his last six games, while Backes has five points in his last five games.

Shea Weber is notched two goals last night against New Jersey, including the overtime winner. He enters the night with 25 points in his last 25 games.

Vladimir Sobotka, who needed help off the ice after being tripped and driven hard into the boards, isn't expected to play. He's day-to-day with a lower body injury, so it doesn't seem like a serious injury. The Blues will not be calling up a forward from the Chicago Wolves (AHL) and Ryan Reaves is expected to play tonight.

Nashville will be without goalies Pekka Rinne (hip), forwards Matt Cullen and Viktor Stalberg both out with upper body injuries. Swiss forward, Simon Moser has been recalled and could play his first NHL game tonight.

If the Blues win tonight, and the Chicago Blackhawks lose against the San Jose Sharks, the Blues would move back into a tie with them at 79 points (with three games in hand). It would also move them from fourth in the NHL, to seconds, putting them just six points behind the Anaheim Ducks for first in the NHL.

A win for Nashville would move them within three points of the Vancouver Canucks for the final wild card spot in the western conference.

Oh, and as of now, Chris Stewart hasn't been traded for Ryan Callahan!
