You asked and I answered

Leftcoaster asked:

Did Josh Morrissey make some strides in his first pro (AHL) season last year? Is he a candidate to make the NHL this season?

I wrote about Morrissey before last season began and it was about him and what was starting to become a bit of reputation that came from junior hockey. He struggled as did the Moose, they were dreadful. But as the season went on Morrissey solidified his game and became a better pro. He’s got a lot to learn but I would suspect that he gets more than a little look at camp and beyond this year. The Jets are making him earn his shot and he seems okay with that. Word is he matured a lot towards the end of the AHL season.

Kaptaan asked:

How about criminality and sports? Are sports athletes treated as a protected class and the effects on society?

OF course but that’s slowly changing. I would think it’s worse in the ranks of college and junior hockey where the ‘youth’ excuse can be made and used. Pro sports has always been a bit about entitlement and unfortunately that goes with the law and legal issues too but as society reaches a place of less tolerance being a professional athlete will hold less advantage.

Rexypoo asked:

Why is Copp left out of every lineup prediction I've seen despite having a better showing than Lowry last year (whom is included in every single one)? Of Connor, Petan, Dano, and Armia, who is most likely to win the #2 RW job when Stafford moves at the deadline? Or will Perreault just move up?

That’s a lot of questions but here goes. Copp was pushed a bit early and likely has to do with the fact that he and Trouba were good friends in college. He showed lots of promise once given better, more skilled linemates and hopefully he makes any decision to send him down tough. The #2 RW job is a bit of a mystery, I’m not so sure that we don’t see a Ehlers, Little Wheeler line with Laine Scheifele Stafford instead of the Ehlers Scheifele Wheeler line that finished the season so well. Basically I think other than a select few any and all combinations are possible, so of those four players it’s Dano and Armia who have the best chance but it won’t be second line. Perreault is a lefty and I do think Stafford will get some interest at the deadline and likely be moved.

JETSWIN asked:

Do you think Stuart ends up getting waived, and does he end up with the Moose?

I don’t think Stuart gets waived but I think he’s on watch and any movement of him to the Moose will be because another player forced it to happen. That will take a monumental effort as Stuart, despite all his faults, has a lot of clout in the organization.

The Game316 asked:

Why does anyone live in Winnipeg

What jobs or industry is there that doesnt exist anywhere else.

Well people have to live somewhere right? The quality of life in Winnipeg is excellent as it’s affordable and has segments that mimic some of the great qualities of bigger cities. In fact Winnipeg and Manitoba in general has a very diverse economy from tech, film, agri-tech, agriculture, mining, financial services, farming and a huge aerospace industry. People live here because it’s a good place to live and has an amazing quality of life, a few more doctors would be nice but it’s close to lots of great places and a lot of fun.

JetsAvs asked:

Hypothetically speaking if Trouba was to be traded what type of return would the jets get?

This is a tough one because what’s the comparable trade- Seth Jones, Dougie Hamilton? IF so use those as your measuring stick or at least a starting point. A value is only determined by what one GM is willing to over or under pay and whoever is willing to accept that offer. So we’re all in the dark here.

IFLLBOH asked:

What's the status of Bryan Little? Since we was hurt near the end of last season, I haven't heard anything about him. Have looked all over and it seems like radio silence which is usually not good news.

Little made a decent recovery and then everything went quiet. There is no reason to believe he won’t be back for training camp ready to go and there’s no indication that won’t happen. If I recall correctly, Little was almost ready to return at the end of the season but they held back for simple cautionary reasons. Basically he is believed to be healed up and ready to go for the season and hopefully come back stronger than ever.
