"They're a f#$%ing good team"- Laine's record

That was the quote from Radulov that came out through the friendly media channels after the Jets beat the Stars last night 5-3 at the American Airlines Arena. It was a big win for the team considering the start, a goal on Michael Hutchinson just 10 seconds into the game.

The rebound came in the second period where the Jets cored five unanswered goals with Patrik Laine getting his 30th and 31st of the year. Toby Enstrom also scored his first of the year and his first goal since 2016. Head coach Paul Maurice had tons of praise for Enstrom after the game citing that he and Bygfuglien (who had 3 assists) have been playing some of their best hockey since he's coached them.

It was a physical game and Mark Scheifele took two vicious hits as the Stars seemed to have a plan to use physical disruption against the Jets. That worked fine until it didn't and once the Jets adapted and became aware of the tactics they simply poured it on. The Stars manage to answer but it was too little too late.

The interesting part about Patrik Laine's 30th goal of the season is that it puts him in very elite company. Take a look below as this is the list of players who have scored at least 30 goals in each of their first two seasons while still being a teenager.

Now here is the list of players and total goals scored from ages 18-19 in their first two seasons.

Laine is in very elite company and given that he has 67 goals there is every chance he catches Crosby at 75 if he can get 8 more. He's running at a .5 goal/game pace and with 20 games left that could equal 10 more goals which should it happen put him 3rd all time. That's right behind former Jet great Dale Hawerchuk.

As for other news that might concern Jets fans Rick Nash has gone to Boston in a huge trade that may only help the Jets given the cost. The Bruins are going for it and there's reason to believe they should given their team, experience and the level of armament that is happening in the Eastern Conference.

What does that mean for the Jets, perhaps more interest in Plekanec who would be a solid depth move down the middle. He's been discussed before here in recent days and there's no reason to think the Jets have not changed their approach. It's believed that Bergevin has asked for a first or top prospect- think Petan. From various sources public and private it is believed that has been turned down and the waiting game begins.

Well forget all that- Plekanec to the Leafs. <

Chevy can wait. Lowry and Tanev are almost back- Trouba is ahead of schedule by a week or so and that could be the best situation yet. Depth is good but if Bergevin thinks- well that does not matter now.

Keep looking Chevy- the player is out there.
