The last time these two teams met the San Jose Sharks social media team published a video of their players discussing their feelings on Winnipeg and some of the city's amenities. It didn't seem to matter to anyone other than some sensitive Winnipeggers but it still made news, more than the 4-1 win the Jets had.

Tonight the series between the two teams finishes and the Jets are hoping for a better result than the 4-0 blanking they received the last time they were on the ice at the SAP Centre.

Brendan Lemieux has been called up and right now it's a game time decision for Adam Lowry. A the morning skate he was still in a non-contact jersey. With Shawn Matthias on IR now Lemieux comes up as the extra forward.

The lines should be as they were against Vancouver and one would think the Jets can push past this odd 2-game goal scoring drought, one where they have 2 goals in just 125 minutes of playing.

Nik Ehlers has been a force of late and it appears that the line with him, Perreault and Little is starting to find some comfort if not decent chemistry. They will need that chemistry to go up against the Sharks defence and their bigger, experienced forwards.

Blake Wheeler had some comments today about the San Jose that were captured by the media there:

For the game tonight it will be interesting to see if Paul Maurice adjusts his usage based on the results last game. That game was a good one for the Sharks but more so for goalie Martin Jones who basically kept everything out of the Sharks net no matter what the Jets did.

Did the home ice advantage of last shift help the Sharks enough to thwart the Jets tactics- probably not but it could be something to watch as Maurice deploys his lines.

Before these 4 games, Cal, Van, SJ, LA, it was suggested a .500 record would be okay due to the off week and being a bit sluggish. The Jets are there, now it's time to get greedy and for eight points.

If you haven't looked the Jets are not 13th overall for best PK in the league, the Sharks are 3rd

The Jets are second overall for best PP, the Sharks are 5th.

Both the Sharks and Jets average 32 shots each per game, the Jets allow 31 and the Sharks 30 per game.

The Jets have scored 24 more goal than the Sharks, but have allowed 7 more against.

The Jets have played 2 more games to date than the Sharks.

The Jets have 3 players in top 50 scorers, the Sharks have none.

Enjoy the game.
