Mike Gillis is returning from Sweden and should be fresh faced and well rested from his overnight in Stockholm. Yeah right, the guy is probably downing Scotch in business class like it's Brian Burke's kool aid. He might even be thinking about Burkey or Gainey or EI if the twins decide to test Free Agent waters.

the two sides met for a few hours and it is believed Gillis offered contracts paying roughly 6 million a season on average but we are not sure for how long. As it stands right now I would expect Henrik and Daniel to field offers from other teams and I would expect this is because JP Barry is going through the media to let people know what's going on. He's basically preparing other potential suitors as to where the Canucks stand on their offer.
Plan B better be good as this is getting very serious right now. I put it at 60/40 in favour of departure by the twins. It seems money is now the issue and that money represents respect to them from the Canucks. Whether it was from the club or fans in Vancouver or across the league the twins have never been given the respect they are due IMO and now with them being point per game players with almost no injury history they want to feel some love. If Marion Gaborik can get offered 8 mill a year and play only 17 games this past season why can't they get 7- at least I bet that's the story JP Barry is telling.
I'm not sure how the fall out goes but I hope Demitra has been calling his Slovakian buddies and doing one hell of a sales pitch on the Canucks. I hope Luongo and Gagner have made some calls to Jay-Bouw saying he should probably wait till 10 am MST before he signs with Calgary. I hope there is one hell of an offer sheet strategy made up for some one.
There you have it folks we are almost at the 11th hour and if Hank and Dan aren't here is 2 million for Burrows now gross overpayment? It's the silly season and the Canucks are in the thick of it for all the wrong reasons.
