Jets and Flyers swapped first round picks and the Flyers pick up a second while the Jets take a leap 4 spots and get a 3rd round pick back. The Jets took Logan Stanley

This is a curious move as many had him ranked 22nd or lower. His skating is a concern and he's liked for his size and the fact that he is a LHD. The Flyers likely no longer had their pick there at 18 and decided to move up a bit later in the draft so the move was worthwhile.

For Jets fans the questions of Stanley's skating ability and size are again compounded by knowing that they already have Myers and Melchiori with the same concerns. This one is a bit of a head scratcher but with most defines players it's a wait and see thing. Draft and develop, it's a process.

Jets take Laine 2nd

"So happy to be there" he says to Jeff Marek "and so happy with the jersey on".

Did Toronto make a mistake? "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh I'm not going to say anything about that"

Look it's not secret as to who and what Laine is there's nothing else to add here.

"Hard to control the emotions, but it 's great to have him finally on the books"-Chevy

"we did receive some late , very serious very late offers but they were quickly put to bed by us"-Chevy

"There's some maturity to his game that comes with only special players"- Chevy

So what does that mean going forward? The pressure to be Selanne is there and Winnipeg will have to accept that is not who Patrik Laine is. Let him be a young learning hockey player and allow him the pains of growing up in a hockey mad city.
