The game was over in 31 seconds but it would take another 59 minutes and 29 seconds to know it. Jacob Trouba scored early into the game after the Wild took an icing call that Bruce Boudreau did not like something changed for the Wild. There was a collective sigh of body language by the players on the ice and they never really recovered.

The Jets continued their airstrike when Brian Little, moved up to the second line after Nik Ehlers was a game time scratch due to an unknown injury, deflected a Byfuglen shot at 5:42 of the first. In this case some fault could be put on Dubnyk as he had grossly overplayed his left side before the tip.

When Branden Tanev scored at 11:10 the Wild looked done and in a different way. They were lost, confused and bewildered at what was going on and I'm sure their coach and fans were too. What was happening on the ice was complete and utter confusion , at least for one team. The Wild could not find space, they could not move the puck nor could they play much in the way of defense. They were tamed.

In the end the the 5-0 victory was simply icing on the cake and the party in Winnipeg had started.

The chants were back and there were many of them. 'Na-Na Nah-Nah Hey Hey Good-bye' started at 18:57 of the third.

"We want Dubnyk"

"Book your tee time"

It was just as boisterous outside the arena as the Whiteout Street Party had more people there than were inside the arena. As of this writing, apparently the traditional gathering place of Portage and Main, was moving towards bedlam.

Take it as it you want but consider some other things as you revisit the storylines of this series. The Wild were without Suter from the start and then Parise after game 3. The Jets were without Kulikov, Perreault (after game 1), Enstrom, (Ehlers game 5) Morrissey (game 5) as well.

After giving up 6 goals in one game, Hellebuyck when just over 161 minutes without allowing a goal.

The Jets have no players in the top 10 in scoring and only one, Scheifele, in the top 20.

In five games the Jets are leading the playoffs with a 58.96% CF- over 4% higher than the next best team.

The Jets have a 7.95% shooting percent. Below league average.

In fact this team could get better and it would be reasonable to expect them to once they get healthy. With the Flyers winning tonight and the all of Winnipeg wanting the Avalanche to extend the series with Nashville time to heal up could not come at a better time as the second round will not start until all series are finished.

There's more to talk about but let's leave this Tweet from Scott Billeck with words from Jets captain Blake Wheeler:

Keeping it on the level, just like the way they play hockey.
