Let's be honest about this- I couldn't watch the whole game but managed to catch the last period and hear it on satellite radio as I drove the Calgary yesterday. (Saskatchewan- snow ploughs are your friend)

What happened in that game was simply this- total Jets domination. You don't need to look at stats to know that the Jets went duck hunting last night but simply could not score and that's because John Gibson was a wall.

The Jets had 78 shot attempts at the the Ducks' net compared to 25 by the Ducks towards Connor Hellebuyck. That is your game story and of course, Kyle Connor. In actual shot its 38 to 12 for the Jets which is absurd and it gets worse for Anaheim when you look at High Danger Scoring Chances- 19 vs 3.

What this game meant for Winnipeg was this... the exorcising of demons past. They didn't bite on the petty attempts by Ducks' players to draw them into dumb penalties. They didn't take the bait and instead they made an inferior team need a lot of luck to get to OT.

That's when Kyle Connor came in. Long a player that many fans wanted on the ice during 3 on 3 he finished the Ducks, more importantly John Gibson off with his 28th goal of the season and another reason to give him consideration for the Calder.

Sure the goal was good but it was Connor fighting off a check and getting the puck out of the zone to Scheifele before getting it back to score the winner. A fair and earned win for Connor and the Jets.

Oh yeah, some guy named Laine played last night too. ;) Whew!
