I'm not sure what to believe. We know Gillis had interest at the deadline he said as much, but does he have a 1st, 3rd and Grabner of interest for something that costs him nothing in 6 days?

I like that he's making a charge for a stud defender. I'm even more intrigued that he is potentially entertaining offers for the Sedins. If Jay is worth a 3rd to talk to what are Hank and Dan worth? Is Hank a 4th and Daniel a 2nd, or perhaps a 1st and 5th or two 3rds? I think it was Emery who set the latest value at an 8th ;)

If this is true giving up the rumored 3rd to talk to him and a 1st plus Grabner if he signs is a huge payment, although I think people are putting more stock in Grabner than is due. The guy is a defensive liability. If Gillis thinks he needs to do this trade it's for these reasons, he knows Jay will sign with Vancouver and for approximately how much- he's gotten that much out of FLA. He also knows that that he can get him for less than market and that there is some one willing to pay more than him. I cannot fathom why he would pay as much as rumored if the above is not correct.

Let's talk about twins.

If Jay is coming here and Gaborik is almost taking possession in West Van- that's where I heard he bought- then Hank and Dan are gone and Gillis is just trying to re-coup what he is losing to get Jay-Bouw. There isn't any way that we could have 3 of the above 4 is there? There is always a way but it would take some serious regression in compensation for it to happen.

We all were hoping it would get interesting and it's not even Friday yet! Let alone July 1st!
