Ceci deal the best route for Trouba & Jets? |

Cody Ceci signed a bridge deal and it's an options some around Winnipeg are seeing for the stalemate with Trouba and the Jets. It makes sense of you want a deal in place and something that both sides can build on but does either side see that?
Here is how the two players compare:
Ceci's deal is a 2 year deal for 5.6 million for an AAV of 2.8 million
So he gets a raise and he and the Sens also are going to prove them belong together long term at the end of it. Why can't the Jets and Trouba do this?
Bogosian had a bridge deal whilst Kane did not. Are either of those two situations indicative of where Trouba is now?
Perhaps.
Kane had come off a career year and was looking to cement his status as a superstar in the league. The upcoming lockout did not hurt the situation for the player either but is Chevy willing to bite on a long term deal without those pressures? Bogosian had a bridge deal in 2011 late in the summer before his monster 7 year deal in the summer of 2013 was that the best way to go?
It's a different scenario with Trouba but why not make the best of an awkward situation and give the kid 2 years at 6 million with some open dialogue about where each party needs to be when that deal comes up. If that were to happen who does it favour more, Trouba or the Jets?
What would you offer and should the two sides even be talking about a bridge deal?
