The latest drama in the life oh Winnipeg Jets fans is the fear that skilled and popular forward Alex Burmistrov may be on the move after this next season. So where's the drama? Moving would mean to the KHL, possibly AK Bars.

This information came as courtesy of Dimitry Chesnokov, a NHL based Reporter who regularly has an inside track on happening in the KHL. The tweet below:

So Burmistrov is doing the right thing, workin g out, practicing and preparing but now Jets fans have to wonder... for who? It's no secret that Jets coach Claude Noel had issues with Burmistrov this past season. At times the coach kept him on a very tight leash in terms of play and ice time. In December relations hit a low point after Burmistrov was seen on a local hockey rink (with my son) playing while injured. A magical evening with a few kids turned into very strained relations between coach snd player. With the story that circulated soon after the conclusion of the season about the heated exit interview discussion between Noel and Burmistrov one has to consider Burmistrov might be 'looking for options'.

Where this story gets tough to determine the 'intent' of agendas is the source- AK Bars coach., one Valery Belov. Is he making a simple presupposition or just basic male pontificating. Chesnokov is far from clear on that point and he may not know as he may not be the one who heard the exact comments.

Seeing as this is the second time a KHL rumoured return for Burmistrov has surfaced since the season finished chances are there might be some smoke. However look at the agendas possibly in play. AK Bars can benefit by having rumours of a Russian star returning either now or in the near future. Burmistrov can also get a little leverage in the hopes of some treatment with 'kid gloves' and future salary negotiations after this season.

Whatever comes of this situation the Jets have one more intriguing player story to monitor after the Kane deal is finalized one way or another.

Enjoy the Olympics- go Canada go!!!
