After a split of their doubleheader with Florida, the Nashville Predators are on their way to Columbus for a visit with their old Central Division rivals. Columbus is trying to recover from another disappointing season and head coach John Tortorella is probably looking to wash the stinkbomb of a World Cup taste out of his mouth with his team.

Nashville’s roster is still going to be one of evaluation as there are there are only four regular forwards (Smith, Sissons, Jarnkrok and Arvidsson) making the trip along with fiver NHL blueliners (Bitetto, Weber, Granberg, Carle and Irwin.) Time in net will be split between Marek Mazanec and Juuse Saros who are locked in a battle for the Nashville backup job.

The Blue Jackets come into tonight’s game 1-2 on the preseason after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to St. Louis. Sergei Bobrovsky will not be on the roster tonight as Columbus allows the battle between Curtis McElhinney and tonight’s starter, Joonas Korpisalo to be joined for the role of Bob’s backup.

Scott Hartnell is still with the Jackets, to the point where they have a feature on their website about how committed he is to Columbus… after being shopped quite a bit over the past nine months, you do wonder how committed the team is to him.

There is radio coverage of tonight’s game on 102.5 the Game with the Voice of the Predators, Pete Weber. Game time is 6pm CDT.

- Saturday is the puck drop for a special “Paint the Town Gold” tour that will span the area over a two week timeframe, with appearances all over Middle Tennessee.

- 2016 Second round draft pick Sam Girard signed his entry level contract yesterday.

- Twelve games today in preseason action, six of them as part of doubleheaders or split squad games.
