From the bottom of my heart… thank you!

The Predators preseason record dropped to 1-2 after last night’s 3-1 loss in Tampa. Head Coach Peter Laviolette put together a roster that was a little less experienced with the stated intention to get a look at players that are knocking on the door to make this team come October. Tampa dressed both Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman, both players missed significant portions of last season.

Juuse Saros got the nod between the pipes and promptly gave up a goal on the first shot of the game from Hedman. Tampa went up 2-0 later In the first as Nikita Kucherov potted one as the Lighting were on a 5-on-3. The score stayed 2-0 until early in the third when Yanni Gorde scored to give the Lightning their winning margin… Austin Watson finally managed to get a shot by Bolts goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, who had 29 saves in the win.

The blueline saw Carrier, Granberg and Bitetto post -1’s … Lyytinen and Girard were ven and Yannick Weber was the only plus of the group at a +1.

The Predators power play continues to flounder a bit, going 0-7 last night in another penalty filled game, 12 in all… seven of them Slashing calls. We’re going to have Kerry Fraser on this week’s SlapShot Radio to talk about the new rule interpretations.

The team is back in action tomorrow afternoon against Columbus at Nationwide Arena with a 2pm CT start, the game will be carried on the Predators Radio Network and streamed live on NashvillePredators.com
