Monday Random Notes

- PK Subban was the 12th Titan yesterday at Nissan Stadium, firing up the crowd and urging the Titans on… the two major sports teams in town continue their mutual shows of support after many Titans supported the Preds during last year’s playoff run. Here’s PK’s post from his Twitter.

- Looks like the food poisoning is subsiding with the Preds, Three of the five call ups for Saturday’s game have been returned to Milwaukee. Fredrick Gaudreau, Trevor Smith and Juuse Saros all have been reassigned to the Ad’s. Austin Watson and Harry Zolnierczyk remain with the team, bringing the roster up to 21.

- The Predators are back at practice today with an 11am session at Centennial, they will do it again tomorrow before hopping a plane to the West Coast for their annual fall western swing.

- Five games in, Filip Forsberg and PK Subban lead the Preds in scoring with five points each, Viktor Arvidsson and Mike Fisher lead in goals with three each.

- Wednesday’s opponent Anaheim took another hit as the Ducks placed blueliner Simon Despres on long term IR. This may be a classic bad news / good news scenario as it may allow the Ducks to sign RFA Hampus Lindholm because of the cap relief the Ducks get from the LTIR move. Stay tuned…

- Winnipeg did a nice job on the Heritage Classic yesterday. It did have to be delayed an hour or so due to glare from the sun.

- Former UAH goaltender Cam Talbot looked stellar in posting a shutout in yesterday’s outdoor game. Edmonton is off to an outstanding start, going 5-1-0 and is currently leading the Pacific Division.

- There is only one team left with a zero in the regulation loss column and that is the Montreal Canadiens.

- The panic button is close to being hit in Calgary as Brian Elliott has struggled to start the season and Chad Johnson hasn’t been much better. I thought the issue in Calgary was in net???

- Congratulations to Zach Parise, who scored his 300th goal Saturday night.

- Two games on the NHL schedule tonight, all time Central – 6:30pm - PHI @ MTL. 7:30pm – CGY @ CHI.
