If you didn’t hear last night’s HockeyBuzz Radio and are even remotely interested in the NHL Draft, you gotta check out the podcast. It’s posted at www.hockeybuzzradio.com.
Besides getting an update from Eklund, we had a great discussion with OHL’s Director of Recruitment and Education, Joe Birch. Joe gave us some great insight on OHL prospects that are prime for drafting this weekend.
One of the more interesting lowdown’s he gave was on Ryan O’Reilly… yes, he’s Cal’s little brother… he’d be a stretch in round one, and may not be available by the time the Preds pick in the second round…

Don’t be surprised to see either Atlanta or Nashville pick Bjorn Krupp. He is Uwe Krupp’s son and played a great deal of his youth hockey in the southeast for a program called … He will probably be picked on Saturday… 4th or 5th round.

The sports writers being quoted on the New York Islanders first round selection as Hedman really is adding some intrigue to the hours leading up to the draft.
If that happens, expect Tampa’s phone to blow up on the draft table about 15 seconds after the pick is announced…
