Development Camp begins today with plenty of prospects to check out and in some cases… get our first look at, that includes this year’s first round pick, Eeli Tolvanen, 2017 3rd round pick David Ference and 7th round pick, goaltender Tomas Vomacka. Another undrafted prospect that was signed as a free agent earlier this spring was 6’5”, 214lb. Victor Ejdsell.
Ejdsell comes to town from the Swedish Elite league with a reputation for physical play… with that size it ain’t surprising. There were a few other teams vying for Ejdsell’s services including Chicago and Detroit, but the young Swede chose Nashville… and given the needs of this team at center… he may find his way to the Nashville lineup sooner rather than later.
Camp schedule is subject to change, but at this writing… the on ice sessions are scheduled for today with Team White on the ice at 2pm, Team Gold at 3:30pm. Tomorrow there are two sessions with mixed squads, session one at 10:15am, session two at 11:45am. There are no on ice sessions scheduled for Wednesday.
Thursday is broken into three sessions, defensemen at 10am, goaltenders at 10:30 and Forwards at 11:30. All of these on ice sessions will take place at Centennial Sportsplex.
The annual Future Stars game will be held at Bridgestone Arena as ticket sales overwhelmed the capacity at Ford Ice Center. The game is scheduled for Friday evening at 7pm… should be a good time as we say farewell to live hockey for a little less than three months. Get your tickets on the Predators website.
