Final Score: Kings 6 – Blue Jackets 4

Game Summary

The goal scoring was back. The Jackets managed to put up four, but they had some issues keeping the puck out of their net. Sergei Bobrovksy has his second subpar game in his last three, allowing five goals on 31 shots.

The game started off well, with the Jackets opening the scoring with a power play goal.

It wasn’t a typical power play goal as it came off the rush as opposed to the traditional set up, but for a team that was in the midst of an 0-for-18 slump they will take them anyway they can get them. Artemi Panarin picked up the assist on the Nick Foligno goal, giving him nine points in eight games. Panarin only has the one goal but the production has been there so far, just not the way many expected. It would be nice to see him get on a hot streak and put some pucks in the back of the net.

The Jackets fell behind 2-1 in the first but tied it up on Oliver Bjorkstrand’s first of the season.

Bjorkstrand has been relatively quiet to start the season. A lot was expected from the young sniper and he has yet to deliver. He hasn’t been scoring but he hasn’t even been getting shots or chances. He has seen his ice time dwindling and was even benched last game against the Lightning. He seems to have responded well to that. It wasn’t a snipe but it’s good to see Bjorkstrand go to the net and pick up a rebound goal.

The first period scoring was not done there. Matt Calvert also got into the action, and much like Bjorkstrand he was crashing the crease and was able to get a garbage goal.

Sonny Milano started the year hot with four goals in the first three games, but since then he has been held pointless. He like Bjorkstrand was invisible in recent games and saw his ice-time cut. Milano was also benched for the third period against the Lightning. Milano also responded well and scored his fifth of the season.

This is a really nice goal. Milano has three Kings players around him but he has those great hands to keep the puck under control and beat Quick glove side.
The score was 4-4 after two, and it stayed that way for most of the third until Anze Kopitar scored his second of the game on some poor defensive coverage by the Jackets.

There are at least three chances in which the Jackets should of got the puck and cleared it, Then to not pick up Kopitar streaking in is a bad mental mistake. Everyone is puck watching and Kopitar sneaks in behind everyone.

Boone Jenner made his return to the line-up and made an impact. He was not limited in anyway playing 18:11, including 59 second of penalty kill time. He did not factor into any of the goals but he did have six shots, and for good measure four hits.
