Final Score: Blue Jackets 2 – Panthers 1

Game Summary

This was a pretty even game for the most part. Both team refused to give an inch and it lead to a very nice game. Former Jacket Jonathan Marchessault scored in the first to give Florida a 1-0. The Jackets rallied for two goals in the second and that 2-1 score held up.
The Jackets were not getting many chances and for a bit there it felt like Florida might just take the game 1-0. That all changed though when Zach Werenski’s seeing eye shot found the back of the net.

Werenski throws this on net and it looks like he's looking for a tip or rebound. Somehow it misses everything and ends up in the back of the net. That was Weresnki’s 11th goal and 44th point of the season. He has a reasonable shot of hitting 50 points.

Late in the second the Jackets took the lead on a Josh Anderson goal.

He display’s great hand-eye coordination to tip this Jack Johnson shot. This is what makes Anderson so effective. He can get to the front of the net and is able to tip pucks and bury rebounds. That was Anderson’s 15th goal of the season. He also assisted on Werenski’s goal, his 11th assist of the season and fourth multi-point game.

The win moves the Jackets a point ahead of the Penguins and just two points back of the Capitals with a game in hard for first in the league.
