Final Score: Blue Jackets 2 – Rangers 0

Game Summary

After a couple poor games in a row the Jackets rebounded slightly against the Rangers. They put up a 51% Corsi at 5 on 5, buoyed by a 67.57% second period. The offense played well, despite only putting up two goals. They had a 32-24 edge in scoring chances and 15 to 11 advantage in high danger chances.

With the way Sergei Bobrovsky was playing the Jackets didn’t need many chances. Bobrovsky stopped all 36 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season.

There is not much else that can be said about Bobrovsky that hasn’t been said already. He’s in the zone, and when he’s in this zone he’s unstoppable.

The Jackets got on the board in that dominate second period.

What a pass by Brandon Dubinsky. He walks around the one Rangers player and passes through another setting up Zach Werenski for his sixth of the season. Dubinsky had a really slow start to the season, putting up just two points in 12 October games. In November he has found his stride, putting up six points in eight games.

The Jackets got an insurance goal in third, Atremi Panarin on the power play ripped his fourth of the season.

This is an absolute blast. No goalie is stopping that. The Jackets need more of this on the power play. They need to be getting pucks on net, preferably with Panarin shooting them. Panarin has the best shot on the team, they need to be doing everything can to get him the puck in space so he can unleash that shot.
