Oliver Bjorkstrand is known for his goal scoring ways. Whether it be the 63 he scored in the WHL or the 27 he scored in the AHL between the regular season and playoffs, this is a player who knows how to put the puck in the net. But I would guess he's never scored a goal like this before.

Since there is no video replay in the pre-season this goal counted, and helped the Blue Jackets to a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in their final pre-season game. Bjorkstrand also had a more traditional goal in the game to him two on the night. He’s really picked up his play in these last two pre-season games and finishes with four points in six games. He silenced all his critics who questioned his slow start. He has played well and has earned a spot on this team.

Believe it or not this was not Bjorkstrand’s first time shooting a puck though a net. He also did this back when he played for the Portland Winterhawks.

The Blue Jackets are going to be one of the youngest teams in the NHL this season. There are going to be a lot of ups and downs with this team. A player like Bjorkstrand makes the game fun, it is going to be really exciting to follow him this season and see what he can do with a full year in the NHL.
