Navin Johnson in the movie "The Jerk" proclaimed that "The new phone books are here!. The new phone books are here! Well, New York Islanders fans can now proclaim that Ryan Pulock is here! Ryan Pulock is here!" Whether or not he plays is a different story.

The 2013 first-round pick was called up to replace Calvin de Haan, who was placed on injured-reserve Sunday with a lower-body injury. de Haan, who practiced Sunday for the first since since suffering the injury a week ago, should only miss the beginning part of the road trip. There is a chance Pulock makes his NHL debut Tuesday in Minnesota. And although his numbers are down from a season ago, Islanders brass has had him focus on the defensive side of his game namely his skating and playing on the penalty kill. We all know about his 105 MPH slap shot. The two-time AHL All-Star has seven goals and 24 points in 51 games this season.

You can thank Scott Mayfield for Pulock's promotion. The defenseman was suspended last Tuesday for an illegal check to the head in Bridgeport's game vs Springfield.

Mayfield's third and final game of his suspension is Friday against Providence.

New York is 10-10-6 with both Marek Zidlicky and Brian Strait in the lineup together. The Isles have played with fire long enough.

I caught up with Islanders forward Anders Lee in Bridgeport. Lee was there for his bobble head night.

How has it been practicing on game days back on Long Island?
"It's kinda nice being home the first half of the day whereas we were leaving for Barclays at 7:45am and not getting back home til after midnight. So it's splits things up a bit. You can eat lunch in your house and take a nap in your own bed. It just makes it a lot easier."

How has the adjustment period playing at Barclays been like?
"We were so accustomed to being at Nassau and being so close to home and the routine going on there. But now that we are at Barclays and the different amenities that they offer us. It really took us a few games to really get settled in and get use to everything and once the crowds started showing up it really started feeling like home. You need that momentum from the crowd and we start feeding off of them."

What was your experience like playing for the Sound Tigers."
"It's was a great learning experience for me. It was how I learned to play the pro hockey game. To make that transition from college to the AHL to the NHL and the coaching down here they really set you up to be successful and you get that opportunity up top and obliviously you have to take advantage of it but what I learned down here taught me how to succeed. To come out of college you always hope for the best. You always think you can handle it but you play that first game and things go well but you can tell you'll have to spend sometime in the AHL and get adjusted, when you do have high expectations like that you come down here it can be tough but at the same time it's such a good place to learn."

Is it frustrating playing with different linemates all of the time?
"It can be a little different at times but we have so many guys who can gel with each other and you practice when them everyday whether you're on the same line or not and you their style and how they play and for the most part we have the same team as last year. But it nice once you get settle on a line that's clicking."

Thoughts on Ryan Pulock's promotion
"Ryan's still so young and has such a bright future ahead of him. He was in Bridgeport making the most if it to become a better player and now that he's up the goal is never to see the AHL again."
