During my half-hour wait in my doctor's office this morning, I noticed to posters on the wall. The first from Albert Einstein, who gave the definition of insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. The second poster was of Yoda, who famously said "Do or do not, there is no try."

Both can be attributed to the New York Islanders power play, which failed to convert on their two opportunities in Sunday night's 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles. The failed two attempts bring their season total to 20 straight. Dean Wormer, can you tell the readers what percentage that translates to?

Not only has the power play been failing, it's also allowing the opponent to score. Josh Ho-Sang's ill-advised pass to Johnny Boychuk resulted in a Drew Doughty shorthanded goal, the third one the team has allowed in six games this season.

Head coach Doug Weight, who is sounding like Jack Capuano more and more after each game, is allowing youngsters like Ho-Sang and Mathew Barzal to make mistakes as they develop, which is fine because their upside is big. Why should it be any different with Ryan Pulock, who has yet to play this season. The 2013 first rounder can play on the highest stage in the sport, the Stanley Cup, but not in games to start the regular season.

Pulock has an ability that no other player on the team possess. That ability is desperately needed now.
