There's good news and bad news regarding tonight's game against the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. The good news, the Islanders get a rare nationally televised game. The bad news, the Islanders have a nationally game. New York has one win in their last six game against Pittsburgh.

Not only do Brendan Burke and Butch Goring have the night off, so does the radio team of Chris King and Greg Picker. WFAN's Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton will have the radio call. This gimmick should have been done during the preseason.

Ryan Strome returns to the lineup following his two-game stay in the press box. He will replace Alan Quine. Strome, who was upbeat when scratched in the playoffs last season seemed frustrated when asked about his situation. We all know that Jack Capuano loves singling out Strome. It has been clear that the fifth overall pick in the 2011 draft needs either a change in coaching staff or scenery. I just hope that Snow does not send Strome away for a mid-to-low round draft pick.

There are plenty of other disappointing forwards. Brock Nelson has two goals in the last 12 games. Jason Chimera has become a bigger bust than Peter Regin.

Scott Mayfield will fill in for Adam Pelech, who left Monday's game in the second period. Mayfield has not played since November 14. Cappy had to turn to Mayfield since Dennis Seidenberg is not yet ready to return and Ryan Pulock has been activated from IR and sent to Bridgeport to get some games under his belt.

Thomas Greiss will start for the fourth straight game. I have a feeling we will be hearing from Allan Walsh soon. The team seems to be more comfortable with Greiss in the net.

Jon Ledecky and Scott Malkin might be the Islanders owner since the start of July but the real owner of the Isles would be Sidney Crosby. The Pens captain has 98 points in 56 career games (most against any team) and has four points (two goals, two assists) in two games against them this season.
