Defenseman Nick Leddy was not at practice Thursday. Head coach Jack Capuano said Leddy is suffering from an upper-body injury. We should know the extent of the injury tomorrow.

Ryan Pulock was recalled on an emergency basis Wednesday. Pulock was skating with the top power-play unit in practice. The Islanders hope Pulock's 105 MPH slap shot sparks the power unit which is currently ranked 27th.

The Leddy/Travis Hamonic pairing has been awful this season. Unfortunately this is the way it gets split up. Their Corsi numbers have been disastrous. Leddy was -8 and -11 in the past two games and Hamonic was -10 in both.

The Isles cannot afford for Leddy to be out for a long period of time. They are winless in five games in his absence over the last two-plus seasons. Leddy is clearly the team's best defenseman for zone entries and breakouts.

Hamonic was paired with Thomas Hickey in practice Thursday. Calvin de Haan was reunited with Johnny Boychuk. Pulock with Dennis Seidenberg.
