The Islanders trimmed their training camp roster to 31 players today.

Loaned to Bridgeport:

Sebastian Aho, Kyle Burroughs, Michael Dal Colle, Tanner Fritz, Ross Johnston, Kane LaFranchise, Eamon McAdam, Kyle Schempp, John Stevens, Devon Toews, Mitchell Vande Sompel and Parker Wotherspoon

Released from PTOs:

Casey Bailey, Scott Eansor, Jeff Kubiak, Ben Holmstrom, Travis St. Denis and Yannick Turcotte

Casey Bailey has had a nice camp and will likely get an AHL contract from Bridgeport. Holmstrom, who has been the Sound Tigers captain for the past two seasons, will likely return.

Placed on waivers:

Christopher Gibson, Kristers Gudlevskis, Seth Helgeson and Connor Jones
Imagine if both goaltenders are claimed? It's very unlikely but would be typical for this organization.

The team will have 25 healthy players left in camp, assuming the four players above clear waivers. Stephen Gionta and Steve Bernier are fighting are fighting for the extra forward although both will likely be waived. Both Alan Quine and Shane Prince will begin the season on injured reserve.

If both Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier make the team they will play, leaving Nikolay Kulemin and Jason Chimera likely rotating on the fourth line.
