The likelihood of winning back-to-back games when allowing 95 combined shots is pretty difficult, but the Islanders took it one step further and stopped all 95 shots in wins against the Rangers and Hurricanes. Today, the Isles look to extend their shutout streak as they host the Minnesota Wild in a President's Day matinee.

Thomas Greiss was placed on injured reserve retroactive to February 16. Greiss tweaked something in the final minutes of Friday's win. Greiss stayed in the game and came up big when few thought, including myself, could.

Christopher Gibson was recalled from Bridgeport on an emergency basis. Gibson himself, is riding a two-game shutout streak. The AHL all-star is second in shutouts (4) and fourth in GAA (2.31) It is unlikely that Gibson will see any action as the Isles do not have any back-to-back this week.
