Ryan Pulock will made his season debut tomorrow night against the New York Rangers. Pulock worked with the top power play unit in practice this morning.

The power play has failed on their first 20 chances this season. It has allowed three shorthanded goals in six games.

Head coach Doug Weight will dress seven defensemen against the Rangers. Nikolay Kulemin will be scratched.

The lineup decision is curious. Will Pulock only see time on the power play? Is his defensive play that awful? Will Thomas Hickey see time on the wing?

Jaroslav Halak will get the start. It is the first time this season that an Isles goalie will start back-to-back games.

On a somber note, the world lost a great last night in Gord Downie, the frontman of The Tragically Hip. Downie had an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer called glioblastoma, which he discovered after a seizure in December 2015.

The band released a statement on Downie's passing.

"Gord knew this day was coming – his response was to spend this precious time as he always had – making music, making memories and expressing deep gratitude to his family and friends for a life well lived, often sealing it with a kiss… on the lips," the statement said.

Going to college and working in Buffalo allowed me to discover The Hip's music. I am forever grateful for it.
