Alan Quine will always have a place in Islander fans hearts. His game-winning goal in double overtime of Game 5 against the Florida Panthers last year gave the Isles a 3-2 lead heading back to Barclays. The rest is history.

Quine signed a one-way, two-year deal in the summer and made the Islanders out of training camp. Following his time playing on Tavares's line in the 2016 playoffs, he was used mostly on the third line with Jason Chimera and Andrew Ladd. Quine developed a bit of chemistry with the new Islanders.

The problem with Quine, and no fault of his own, is that he saw quite a bit of time on the second-unit power play. Clearly another X in the column of general manager Garth Snow. Quine did have more power play goals than Brock Nelson (2-1).

The speedy Quine is a nice extra forward to have, perhaps even some fourth-line time, but should not see any time in the top six or power play

2016/17 season grade: C+
