With less than an hour to go before the signing frenzy begins, the question what will Brian Burke do at 12:01PM. Will the Sedins’ be wearing Blue and White next year?? Will a Toronto-area boy like Mike Cammalleri come home? Will a player that Burke has ties with, like Francois Beauchemin sign on the dotted like? Will any of these potential signings alter the possibility of moving Tomas Kaberle.

My fervent hope is that the Leafs sign none of the big ticket free agents, because no one out there is a franchise-caliber player and these UFA’s will more than likely garner franchise player money. The more prudent path would be to tinker, pick up more cost-effective free agents and go after Rick Nash or Ilya Kovalchuk in free agency next year.
