Breaking news in the world of sports, as Marty St. Louis has reportedly asked for a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This report comes after St. Louis spoke to reporters in Tampa this morning. He didn't exactly put the trade rumors to bed with his comments.

It's clear that St. Louis was unhappy after being left off Team Canada's roster at the initial announcement. There was some speculation that things were smoothed over after he was named Steven Stamkos's replacement and went on to win a Gold medal. Apparently that wasn't the case, as this report is fresh this morning.

I'm going to take a step back from my usual objective reporting and say that this disappoints me. I get that Marty was unhappy with Team Canada's decision to initially exclude him, but I really thought that he would put the Lightning first and continue to be a pillar of strength for his teammates to rely on. If this report is true, Marty St. Louis is turning his back on his teammates. He's turning his back on the organization and fans that gave him a chance to be a star in the world's greatest hockey league. As a fan, I'm disappointed.

I'll be back to update this post later in the afternoon. I just had to get something up initially. So, back with more later.

As always, thanks for reading.
