Update: 5:41pm - Talking to others close to the Heatley sweepstakes that Minnesota have tabled "the offer to beat" and Murray is giving the other teams till tomorrow night (no surprise) to table a better offer. But as it stands Heatley looks to be Minnesota bound.
Small update on a very busy day.
First off, there has been a TON of rumours and news flying out of Ottawa, Minnesota and San Jose today regarding Heatley.
But the most intriguing piece of mail/info I've received today is an e-mail the LA Kings organization directing me to a video link of Ron Hextall's comments from L.A.'s "The state of the franchise" meeting earlier this week.

While GM (and assistant GM's) are known for saying one thing while doing another, everything I've heard in the last 24 hours has lead me away from L.A.
While it's no secret L.A. is looking to move their 1st round pick, it is seriously shaping up that L.A. has no interest in paying the large (but fair) price for Heater.
While I won't rule L.A. out yet, it does look unlikely.
On the other end of the spectrum, Heater to Minnesota has apparently picked up major steam, with San Jose sitting firm on their offer and supposedly Colorado (can't confirm) making a major offer.
I'll post anything new as I can confirm it.
Also tomorrow afternoon, Josh Liles (Dallas Stars Blogger) and Myself will be holding a predraft Talkcast at 4pm est, so feel free to join in, we'll be glad to answer any questions you have and talk draft, and potential draft night trades.
