SON OF A B*TCH!

Well Ottawa fans the shat have officially hit the fan................

It had been originally reported on ESPN, that Dany Heatley has told Bryan Murray he wants out......now.

Not the best way to wake in morning.

3 hours phone calls later, along with additional confirmation from TSN, I can 100% confirm Dany wants out, and that Heatley has given his agent a list teams he won't accept a trade to.

At this point I can't confirm which teams are on the list.

There are 2 reasons why Heatley wants out

- He doesn't like Clouston or his plans for Ottawa. (He doesn't like playing offensive hockey?)
- Wants to be closer to his girlfriend. (Wierd, I was pretty sure he was dating an Ottawa girl.)

There may be more but at this point that’s all I can confirm.

For fun I'm going just going to flat out guess possible homes for Heater -
(All are pure assumptions, nothing rumoured at all, pure assumption!)

Columbus - If Nash doesn't look likely to resign, a Nash for a signed Heatley swat would make sense.

Tampa Bay - They have the cap-space and the number 2 draft pick....... plus the most entertaining ownership pair and GM in the NHL.

Vancouver - No Sedins? There is a ton of cap-space to get Heater. Loungo, Kesler for Heatley, Leclaire?

San Jose - Super Joe has been the talk of the San Jose trade world.....both he and Heatley have similar cap-hits......

New York Islanders - They need a bonafide superstar, so why not skip the learning the curve and trade PICK #1 for Heater. I wouldn't shed a tear if Ottawa was able to get Tavares in return for Heater.

L.A. - They were after Spezza, so the interest may shift to Heater. A deal for Frolov, 5th pick for Heatley is a solid option.

Boston - Cap-space is a serious issue, but trading Kessel's rights and say Wheeler or Ward will make more than enough cap-space.

Again these are just shots in the dark. Nothing has been rumoured about where Heater may be heading.

As for teams he won't accept a trade to.....

Atlanta, Toronto and Phoenix seem like the big 3, Toronto may be a situation where Murray just won't trade with.

--------------------------------------------

In another situation where people are hearing different things from different sources,

Ottawa has been labelled as the frontrunner for Derek Morris.

As far as I've heard Ottawa isn't looking into adding another D-man unless it's for a big discount.

Bryan Murray is expecting a strong showing from Erik Karlsson at training camp and isn't willing to commit more money on a defenseman that might not play, that’s why Bell is without a contract.
----------------------------------------

We are quickly approaching draft day, and many sites are preparing their Mock drafts.

So for all the Sens fans out there and anyone else making their own mock drafts -

With the 9th pick in the 2009 Entry draft, the Ottawa Senators select: Oliver Ekman-Larsson

Plain and simple OEL just doesn't get tired; the kid has the ability to play 30+ minutes a night if called upon. While he will need to strengthen up and fill out his frame, Oliver has all the necessary skills to control the blue line similar to fellow Swede Nik Lidstrom. OEL has seen his stock jump more than any other prospect over the past few months despite missing out on the World Jrs.

There are plenty of options out there, but everything I have heard leads to OEL. If OEL goes before 9th, David Rundblad and Jacob Joferson are next on the list.

I would be surprised if Ottawa didn't draft one of those Swedes with the 9th pick, unless Jared Cowen falls into their lap.
----------------------------------------------

While the court proceedings aren't over, Judge Baum seems to be heavily leaning towards allowing the relocation, as long as the Balsille pays a relocation fee.

100 million is the number floating around, currently.

If Balsillie really wants the team he will add about 75 million to his bid to insure his bid is the highest including relocation fees.
