Current Plans for Prospects Part:3

Prospects plans for next season.

Peter Regin - Over the last season Peter Regin's popularity has soared among Sens fans, and his performance last season, putting up 47 points in 56 games in the AHL, earned him praise from the scouts.

While 1 goal and an assist in 11 games isn't anything spectacular, his overall performance in those games exceeded most of the expectations placed of Regin.

Heading into camp this fall, it's expected by most that Regin will be competing for a spot on the third line. He definitely isn't guaranteed a spot, as Regin will be competing with Erik Condra, Zack Smith and Jim O'Brien for the same spot.

Keegan Dansereau - Freshly signed today, Keegan slipped through 2 drafts and attended two NHL camps. (Florida in 07 and Columbus in 08) He spent the last 6 years playing the WHL for the Calgary Hitmen, before being traded to the Swift Current Broncos.

Dansereau is clearly a late bloomer, getting off to a slow start, before averaging close to a point per game over the last 3 seasons.

While the expectations for Keegan will be low, he seems to be a solid depth signing, and will add some scoring to Bingo.

Mike Broduer - So far a career AHL/ECHL goalie, Mike is heading into the 09/10 AHL season competing for his first full season as an AHL starter.

Struggling to earn a regular role in the AHL, Mike has bounced between the ECHL and AHL for 6 of the last 7 seasons before injuries thinned Tampa's goaltending depth and he took the reins as the starter for Norfolk while posting some decent numbers.

He looks like a solid replacement for Elliott in Bingo until Robin Lehner is ready.

Michael Sdao - The last player drafted by the Sens in 2009 entry draft, Sdao fits in with Ben Blood, Patrick Weircioch and Jared Cowen. He stands at 6'04" 220lbs, at 20 years old.

While he isn't anything fancy offensively, he is a huge body on the back-end and will likely help Princeton immensely next season.

Oh and he loved to fight at USHL level posting over 300 PIM in the last two seasons. Enjoy Princeton.

Ruslan Bashkirov - Drafted two years, Ruslan remains in Russia and a relative unknown to most Sens fans still.

After an outstanding season in the QMJHL with his twin brother in 06/07, Ruslan and Roman returned to Russia to play in the now KHL, neither has been able to find a spot on the main roster of Togliatt.

There was talk of Ruslan making his return to North America, to play in the AHL, on the condition his brother was signed with him. As it stands, Ruslan will remain on the fringe of the KHL and won't be making the jump back, at least not yet.

It’s worth noting both Bashkirov brothers have played very well at the KHL jr. level.

I'd also like to apologize to anyone I offended yesterday by posting additional news on the same post as Mrs. Foligno's passing. I didn't intend for it to come across as disrespectful or anything like that.

It's a tragic loss, and I did not intend to draw away from it, or "bump" up extra hits through the tragic news.
